Sadly, some ISPs prevent all external access to their SMTP servers. You will need to try with both to see which one works. Then just leave that one set, regardless of where you connect from. If you decide to try FastMail, you will need a paid-for account to get the high-end features, one of which enables you to cause the FastMail server to drop a copy of everything you send into your Sent Mail folder, so you have a record of what you send, no matter where you sent it from. Another one I use all the time is 'Reflect' which forwards any mail received by your FastMail account to the Work email address you specify, but codes it so that if you Reply, the reply goes through the FastMail server and is re-addressed so it looks and behaves like it came from 'Your Account', not your 'Work Account'.
